Dr Kristin Martin

Dr. Kristin K. Martin is board-certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine and currently serves as CEO and Medical Director of River Valley Medical Wellness. She holds adjunct faculty appointments at both the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine and DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, contributing to the education of future leaders in emergency and primary care. Clinically, Dr. Martin leads a comprehensive, integrative practice that spans primary care, emergency services, and specialized substance use disorder treatment—including office-based, telemedicine, and residential care models. Dr. Martin’s career is marked by a steadfast commitment to advancing addiction medicine and integrative health care. She has held influential leadership roles on national committees, including positions with the American Osteopathic Association, American Society of Addiction Medicine, and Arkansas Society of Addiction Medicine, where she now serves as President. Her pioneering research on the intersection of trauma, adverse childhood experiences, and social determinants of health in relation to mental health and substance use disorders has significantly contributed to our understanding of holistic patient care. An award-winning clinician and educator, Dr. Martin’s work not only enhances patient outcomes but also inspires the next generation of physicians in the fields of family and addiction medicine.

Dr. Michael Wilson

Dr. Wilson is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and Addiction Medicine, and is an Associate Professor (tenured) in the Departments of Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the Coalition on Psychiatric Emergencies (www.coalitiononpsychiatricemergencies.org), President-Elect of the American Association for Emergency Psychiatry (www.emergencypsychiatry.org), and as Senior Associate Editor of the Journal of Emergency Medicine (www.jem-journal.com). Clinically, he serves as the emergency department lead for neurological emergencies, psychiatric emergencies, and substance use disorders. Dr. Wilson’s research in behavioral emergencies and substance use disorders have been cited more than 4250 times (h-index 32), and he has written more than 90 peer-reviewed articles, 30 book chapters, and 4 edited books. His work has been supported by numerous federal and private grants, and has been recognized as innovative by the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (https://afsp.org/story/national-suicide-prevention-award-honors-leaders-of-first-known-trial-showing-tha)

AMA Credit Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 

ANCC Credit Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 0.5 ANCC contact hours.  Nursing contact hours will be awarded for successful completion of program components based upon documented attendance and completion of evaluation materials.

 

AAPA Credit Designation Statement

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 0.5 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
